Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Lyrical.ly (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the mobile application AI Calorie Counter (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this policy together with our Terms of Use.

Summary

The App is a calorie and wellness tracking tool. Much of your health and fitness information is stored on your device. If you use optional features (for example AI meal analysis or Google Health Connect), some data is processed on servers or read from Health Connect as explained below. We do not sell your personal or health data.

Health and fitness data (important)

Google Play and applicable laws treat many types of wellness information as sensitive. This section explains what health-related data the App may access, collect, or use, and why.

Data categories may include, depending on how you use the App:

  • Body metrics and profile inputs: height, weight, goal weight, BMI or similar derived values, biological sex or gender where you provide it, birth year or age band, and units preference (metric/imperial).
  • Nutrition and intake: foods and meals you log, estimated calories, macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, fat), manual or AI-assisted meal descriptions, and related timestamps.
  • Hydration and habits: water intake logs and related goals or reminders where you use those features.
  • Activity and energy expenditure: step counts from the device step sensor or, if you allow it, from Google Health Connect; exercise or distance-related data types for which the App requests read access (see Permissions).
  • Progress imagery: photos you choose to save in progress or meal-related flows (stored as you direct on the device).
  • Goals and preferences: calorie/macro targets, diet style selections, activity level, meal reminders, language, and display preferences.

Where it is stored. By default, the profile, logs, and history above are kept in local storage on your device (for example app private storage / preferences). We do not operate a user account system inside the App that uploads this full diary to our own servers for cloud backup unless we explicitly ship that feature and describe it here.

How we use health-related data on the device. We use this information only to provide App features: calculating targets, showing charts and summaries, widgets, notifications you enable, streaks, and similar in-app functionality.

Google Health Connect (optional). If Health Connect is available on your device and you grant permission, the App may read health data types consistent with the permissions shown in the system dialog (including steps, and read access declared for exercise and distance in the App manifest). Today the App primarily uses this integration to read step data for display in the App. Health Connect data is read only when you opt in; you can revoke access in Android settings. We use that data only inside the App to power features you see (for example syncing or displaying activity). We do not sell Health Connect data.

AI meal analysis (optional, network). When you use photo or text-based meal analysis, the App sends the content needed to run the feature to a remote service (HTTP API endpoints configured for the App), which may include: an image encoded from your photo, optional text you typed, optional voice-related input processed as text, and your locale for language-appropriate responses. That service returns estimated nutrition information so you can log a meal. The transmission is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) where supported by the platform. The operator of that API may process requests under its own technical and security practices; we configure the App to use the designated endpoints for this feature only when you initiate analysis.

Analytics. We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example screens opened, feature usage, funnels). Analytics is not intended to collect your full meal diary as a structured upload; however, analytics SDKs may collect device and app identifiers, coarse location derived from IP at the analytics provider, and events you trigger. See Google’s documentation for details.

Crash reporting. We may use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostic data to fix bugs. Crash reports can include device model, OS version, and stack traces.

Advertising. The App may show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use identifiers and usage data to show and measure ads under Google’s policies.

Not medical advice. The App is for general wellness and self-tracking only. It is not a medical device and does not replace advice from a qualified health professional.

Other personal data

Purchases. If you buy a subscription or in-app product, Google Play processes payment. We do not receive your full card number. We may receive subscription status from Google to unlock premium features.

Permissions the App may request

Android may prompt for permissions including:

Internet — Remote configuration, ads, analytics, crash reporting, and AI meal analysis.

Camera — Capturing food photos for logging or AI analysis.

Record audio — Optional voice input when describing a meal, if you use that feature.

Activity recognition — Step-related activity recognition where the OS requires it for step features.

Health permissions (Health Connect) — Read steps, read exercise, read distance, as shown in the system permission UI when you connect Health Connect.

Notifications — Meal or hydration reminders if you enable them.

Exact alarms (where applicable) — Scheduling reminder notifications reliably on supported Android versions.

Boot completed — Rescheduling notifications after device restart where you opted into reminders.

If you deny a permission, related features may be limited, but the rest of the App may still work.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal or health information. We share data only as needed to operate the App, including with:

  • Google — Play Billing, Play services, Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config), and AdMob, under Google’s policies.
  • Meal analysis API provider — When you explicitly run AI analysis, as described above.
  • Legal and safety — If required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the App. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; you use the App at your own risk.

Retention and deletion

Data stored on your device remains until you delete it inside the App, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Remote logs retained by Google or API providers are governed by their retention settings and policies.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 as its primary audience. Parents and guardians should decide whether calorie, weight, or fitness tracking is appropriate for a minor in their care and should supervise use of the device, permissions (camera, microphone, Health Connect), and any online features.

We do not knowingly collect personal or health information from children under 13 in a way that violates applicable child-privacy rules. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has used the App in a way that concerns you, contact us at info@lyrically.co.in and we will take appropriate steps, which may include helping you delete local app data (we typically cannot remotely erase data on your device).

International users

Our company operates from India. Providers such as Google may process data in multiple countries. By using the App, you understand that information may be processed where those providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
